AIMS Group provided disaster management and pre-demolition asbestos inspection services for approximately 7,000 structures throughout St. Tammany, New Orleans, and St. Bernard Parishes following various Hurricanes. AIMS’ staff coordinated with LDEQ and OSHA representatives to develop sampling strategies. Following hurricane Katrina, AIMS Group had a field staff of 60 asbestos inspectors and helpers working 12-hour days, 7 days a week, for months to maintain the demolition schedule of our client. Office staff were responsible for processing thousands of bulk samples a day and coordination with thirteen (13) laboratories on a daily basis to determine laboratory capacity.
AIMS’ staff reviewed all analytical data and prepared daily reports for structures inspected. Daily reports included a summary of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) identified, if any, and a final classification of each structure as either a Regulated Asbestos-Containing Materials (RACM) demolition or Construction and Demolition Debris (C & D) demolition.
AIMS’ staff have been acknowledged on multiple occasions for outstanding field performance, including LDEQ mandating that other consultants utilize the sampling standards established by AIMS Group.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) allocated funding to assist in Louisiana’s long-term recovery from the severe flooding that occurred throughout much of the state in March and August of 2016. The funding for The Restore Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Program was allocated out of HUD’s Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Program. Virtually every standing structure in 10 parishes was flooded and suffered extensive water intrusion damage. As part of coastal Louisiana’s recovery and in conjunction with FEMA and GOHSEP, state and parish officials undertook the necessary steps to address vast environmental issues throughout the region.
AIMS Group provided disaster management, construction management and led the environmental lead-inspection services for approximately 25,000+ structures throughout Louisiana. AIMS’ staff was responsible for all field activities relating to lead-inspections and environmental hazard inspections of residential and commercial structures. Our staff of LDEQ Quality Accredited Risk Assessors performed visual assessments, lead-based paint inspections, lead-based paint inspection and environmental risk assessments, and post-hazard mitigation (abatement and/or non-abatement) clearance. They were responsible for analyzing programmatic data to provide proactive guidance, utilizing project database analysis. And they also developed and implemented recovery plans, strategies and tools for effective program and funding management.
AIMS’ staff supervised recovery field environmental staff of 25-40 across 10 impacted parishes to administer CDBG-DR environmental clearance activities. This also included overseeing project site assessments, outreach to individual homeowners, project teams, and other internal and external stakeholders to close and complete recovery projects. AIMS’ environmental team successfully completed in excess of 25,000 environmental assessments.
