AIMS GROUP was responsible for the preparation of Design Plans and Specifications for the lowering of the potable water supply to Grand Isle, LA. The design consisted of adding concrete anchors (3’x3’), lowering approximately 11 miles water line to ensure a minimum of 12’ of cover, maintaining a 3 ft. clearance to all existing pipeline crossings, reconnecting and adding pipe at each valve station, and directionally drilling under Bayou Rigaud. USACE routinely dredges Bayou Rigaud to maintain depth for barge and ship traffic. The dredging operations have hit and damaged the waterline due to the shallow depth of the line. The waterline is designed to be directionally drilled 25 feet below the bottom of the Bayou per USACE guidelines.
AIMS Group also included a secondary/backup water supply by reconnecting an abandoned water line from Lafourche Parish to the water line that was disconnected in 1999. A new 8” line will be run to the existing Chenier storage tank.

AIMS Group was selected to perform all necessary research, planning and engineering to help with odor control issues at three (3) existing odor control unit sites. Our personnel prepared plans, specifications and estimate of construction costs for Phase 1 Odor Control System Modifications; SCIP No. D3118. The work included replacement of three odor control scrubber units with biological and dry media units and drainage lift station.
AIMS provided structural design of pile supported reinforced concrete support platforms. We also performed air flow calculations and analyses for the three odor control units. Our design also included the design of a storm water drainage lift station at one of the sites. AIMS Group personnel also provided construction administration services during the construction phase.

AIMS GROUP team provided engineering design services and construction oversight for the extension of Taxiway Golf at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. The extension of Taxiway Golf was called for by the FAA for safety reasons. The design services provided included: the preparation of plans and specifications, programming and project scoping, project design, bidding and construction administration and project close-out. As part of our work effort, our team worked closely with airport personnel and the FAA to complete the design of the Taxiway extension in two phases. Phase 1 of the Taxiway Expansion consists only of a high-speed exit from Runway 1-19 and an eastward extension of Taxiway Golf to Taxiway Sierra.
Phase 2 of the Taxiway Expansion project consists of a westward expansion of Taxiway Golf to the end of Runway 6-24. The project also included concrete structural analysis, new taxiway edge lights, signage and drainage facilities to accommodate the extension of Taxiway G. AIMS GROUP design tasks included subsurface storm drainage, taxiway design and grading for surface drainage and erosion control.
